Green Crab Week June 20 to 29

From June 20th to 29th, join GreenCrab.org in celebrating Green Crab Week as more than 75 restaurants add green crab to their menus. These Island restaurants are participating: Beach Road (Vineyard Haven), Martha's Vineyard Chowder Company (Oak Bluffs), Lambert's Cove (West Tisbury) and State Road (West Tisbury). As explained in Sandy Cannon-Brown's film, One Bad Crab, green crabs are a fecund, invasive species that threatens our valuable fisheries and vulnerable ecosystems.  The film premiered at an event hosted by Tisbury Waterways, Inc. on March 9. Green Crab Week is organized in collaboration with organizations across New England and hosted by GreenCrab.org., a nonprofit featured in One Bad Crab. Participating restaurants will be serving up green crab harvested on Martha's Vineyard by Tegan Gale and distributed by the MV Fishermen's Preservation Trust.
